From Volleyball Courts to Coding Challenges
Aga's journey into tech is anything but conventional. After her volleyball career ended, she found herself at a crossroads.
With no prior experience in coding, she decided to teach herself the basics of programming. Her determination paid off, leading to freelance opportunities and eventually a role as a Front-end Developer at an e-commerce company.
"I'm a former volleyball player who transitioned into coding after my sports career ended," Aga shares. "I started as a self-taught coder, which opened doors I never expected. Through Coder Woman, I now teach women coding fundamentals like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, focusing on hands-on projects to build confidence and real-world skills. I also show them that their dreams of a tech career can come true, regardless of their background."
The Birth of the 21-Day Coding Challenge

The 21-Day Coding Challenge is Coder Woman's flagship program, designed to make coding approachable for beginners.
"Coder Woman started when I was working as a Front-end Developer at an e-commerce electronics company,"
Aga explains.
"I saw firsthand how powerful tech was but also how many women felt left out. The 21-Day Coding Challenge came from asking, 'How can I make coding approachable for women who feel overwhelmed?' It's designed to guide them step by step, with small wins along the way to keep them motivated."
The Course Creation Process

Aga's course creation process is hands-on and student-focused. She starts by asking,
"What's the end result my students should achieve?"
and works backward to create a comprehensive roadmap.
"Since my courses are project-based, I had to make sure every lesson connected to the next," she notes.
Using the OnlineCourseHost.com platform's course builder, Aga creates engaging lessons that incorporate audio, slides, and interactive elements like quizzes.
"I want my lessons to feel fun, not like a boring lecture, so I use analogies, metaphors, and even a bit of humor to keep things interesting."
Overcoming Challenges
Like many course creators, Aga's biggest challenge was overcoming imposter syndrome.
"Even after freelancing and working in tech, I still doubted whether I was 'good enough' to teach,"
she admits. However, she found strength in her own journey:
"I remembered that I've been in my students' shoes, I know how overwhelming it feels to start something new. That shared experience pushed me to show up and focus on helping others overcome the same fears."
Standing Out in a Competitive Market
In a crowded online course market, Coder Woman stands out by staying laser-focused on its mission: empowering women to learn coding from scratch.
"I don't try to be everything to everyone,"
Aga emphasizes.
"My courses are laser-focused on women who want to learn coding from scratch. I also focus on creating a supportive community and sharing relatable, real-life stories."
The Power of Community and Social Media

"Community is everything,"
Aga states emphatically.
"Without it, learning to code can feel isolating, and I know that because I've been there myself. When I was starting, I didn't have a network of women in tech to turn to, which made the process way harder than necessary."
Social media has been instrumental in building this community. Platforms like Instagram and LinkedIn have helped Aga connect with women who didn't realize coding could be for them.
She's also building a private community inside OCH and launching a YouTube channel to provide free coding tutorials and mindset guidance.
Tools of the Trade
Aga keeps her tech stack practical and efficient:
- OCH's Course & Community Features for lesson structure and student engagement
- CodePen & VS Code for hands-on coding lessons
- Upbase for content organization
- Canva for visuals and social media content
- Descript for video and audio editing
- Grammarly for polishing course materials
Productivity Secrets
Managing multiple aspects of Coder Woman requires careful organization. Aga's key strategies include:
- Batch content creation for efficient lesson production
- Launching content before it's "perfect" to get real feedback
- Scheduling deep-focus work during peak energy times
- Automating administrative tasks through OCH and Zapier
Advice for Aspiring Course Creators
For course creators looking to grow their business, Aga emphasizes the importance of clarity.
“Scaling isn't easy, it takes work and focus. Start by getting really clear on who you're helping and what problem you're solving for them.
Build one course that delivers real results, and listen to your audience's feedback to make it even better.
Don't just guess about growth, look at the numbers. How many people are you reaching? How many can you actually serve without losing quality? Pay attention to things like how many people sign up, stick around, and engage with what you're offering.”
She also emphasizes the importance of thinking ahead.
“And always think ahead. Ask yourself: "Where do I want this business to be a year from now?" Make sure the steps you're taking now move you closer to that goal.
Scaling isn't about doing more, it's about doing the right things and serving your students really well.”
Lessons Learned: Trusting the Process
Looking back, Aga admits that she would have done one thing differently: trusted herself more.
“I wish I'd trusted myself more. I spent too much time overthinking every little detail instead of just starting and improving as I went.”
This lesson is one she now shares with aspiring course creators. “Don’t wait for things to be perfect,” she advises. “Start with what you know and focus on helping people. The rest will come with time.”
What’s Next for Coder Woman?

Aga has big plans for the future of Coder Woman. She’s currently working on new courses and launching the Coder Woman Club, a community where women can connect, learn, and support each other.
“I am creating new courses and starting the Coder Woman Club. This club is a place where women can connect, learn, and support each other.
I'm using OCH's Community Feature to achieve this. My main goal is to empower more women to feel confident in technology and in their skills.”
Why Aga Loves the OCH Platform
Aga credits the OnlineCourseHost (OCH) platform with making her course creation journey smoother and more efficient.
“The course builder is amazing, it's intuitive and has everything I need, especially quizzes, which my students love. These features helped me overcome my biggest challenges when starting because they made it easier to structure and deliver my lessons.
I've also started using the website builder to create resources for my students and the homepage for the Coder Woman Club. Both tools save me so much time and make the process smooth.”
